ROAD IMPROVEMENT (SPECIAL FUNDING) AMENDMENT

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Explanatory Note relates to this Bill as introduced into Parliament)
This Bill is cognate with the Appropriation Bill 1992.
The object of this Bill is to amend the Road Improvement (Special Funding) Act
1989 so as to make amendments relating to the road improvement special 3 X 3 fuel
levy consequential on the amendments made by the proposed Business Franchise
Licences (petroleum Products). Amendment Act 1992 which increase the fees to be paid
for petroleum licences under the Business Franchise Licences (Petroleum Products) Act
1987.
The amendments are necessary to preserve the present amount of the levy.
Clause 1 specifies the short title of the proposed Act.
Clause 2 provides for the commencement of the proposed Act on 1 October 1992.
Clause 3 amends section 4 of the Principal Act in order achieve the object stated
above.
