BUSINESS FRANCHISE LICENCES (PETROLEUM

PRODUCTS) AMENDMENT BILL 1993

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Explanatory Note relates to this Bill as introduced into Parliament)

This Bill is cognate with the Appropriation Bill 1993.

The object of this Bill is to amend the Business Franchise Licences (Petroleum
products) Act 1987 to increase the fees to be paid for licences under that Act.

Clause 1 specifies the short title of the proposed Act.

Clause 2 provides for the commencement of the proposed Act on l October 1993.

Clause 3 amends section 40 of the
Principal Act so as to increase the fees to be paid
for under that Act by about 2.5 per cent.

Clause 4 provides that the increased fees are to apply in respect of licences that take
effect on or after 1 November 1993.
