In these Regulations, "Principal Regulations" means the Quarantine (General) Regulations. 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 2 Interpretation 2. Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended: (a) by inserting in subregulation (1) "as in force on 1 January 1982" after "1969" in the definition of "International Health Regulations"; (b) by omitting from subregulation (1) the definitions of "successfully vaccinated against small-pox" and "vaccinated against small-pox". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 3 Prescribed diseases 3. Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations is amended: (a) by omitting from subregulation (1) "Epedemic" and substituting "Epidemic"; (b) by omitting from subregulation (1) "Small-pox". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 4 4. Regulation 14A of the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted: Yellow fever, and period, prescribed under subsection 35 (1A) of the Act "14A. For the purposes of subsection 35 (1A) of the Act: (a) yellow fever is a prescribed disease; and (b) the prescribed period, in relation to a person who arrives in Australia on board an oversea vessel, is the period beginning 10 years before the day of arrival and ending 10 days before that day.". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 5 Repeal 5. Regulation 17 of the Principal Regulations is repealed. 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 6 6. Regulations 20 and 21 of the Principal Regulations are repealed and the following regulations substituted: Health reports to be furnished in duplicate "20. Where under section 27 of the Act a quarantine officer (human quarantine) requires the master of an oversea vessel, or an overseas installation, other than an aircraft, to cause a health report to be delivered to the quarantine officer (human quarantine): (a) the master shall cause another copy of that report to be so delivered; and (b) the quarantine officer (human quarantine) shall sign that other copy and return it to the master. Meaning of Primary Health Report "21. For the purposes of regulation 22, 'Primary Health Report' means the health report delivered under section 27 of the Act by the master of an oversea vessel, or an overseas installation, other than an aircraft, to a quarantine officer (human quarantine) at the first port of entry.". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 7 Production of Primary Health Report 7. Regulation 22 of the Principal Regulations is amended: (a) by inserting in subregulation (1) ", or overseas installation, other than an aircraft," after "oversea vessel"; (b) by inserting in subregulation (1) "or installation" after "the vessel"; (c) by omitting from subregulation (1) "in pursuance of the last preceding regulation" and substituting "under regulation 20"; (d) by inserting in subregulation (2) ", or overseas installation, other than an aircraft," after "vessel"; (e) by omitting from subregulation (2) "him in pursuance of the last preceding regulation" and substituting "the master under regulation 20". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 8 Fumigation of vessel on arrival in port 8. Regulation 30 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (2) (a) "54" and substituting "53". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 9 Period of quarantine 9. Regulation 63 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (1) (a) "small-pox or". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 10 Period of performance of quarantine 10. Regulation 64 of the Principal Regulations is amended: (a) by omitting "small-pox,"; (b) by omitting from paragraph (a) "small-pox or". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 11 Repeal 11. Regulations 71 and 73 of the Principal Regulations are repealed. 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 12 Vaccination of persons travelling from proclaimed places 12. Regulation 74 of the Principal Regulations is amended: (a) by omitting from subregulations (1) and (4) "a certificate in accordance with Form Q" and substituting "an international certificate"; (b) by omitting from paragraph (4) (a) "six" and substituting "10"; (c) by omitting from subparagraph (4) (b) (i) "officer of" and substituting "practitioner employed by"; (d) by omitting from paragraph (5) (a) "fourteen" and substituting "6"; (e) by omitting paragraph (5) (b); (f) by adding at the end the following subregulation: "(6) In this regulation: "international certificate", in relation to a person, means an international certificate of vaccination or revaccination against yellow fever issued in respect of the person in accordance with Article 79 of the International Health Regulations; "medical practitioner" means: (a) a medical practitioner as defined in subregulation 5 (1); or (b) a person entitled to practise in a foreign country as a medical practitioner within the ordinary meaning of those words.". 1988 No. 328 QUARANTINE (GENERAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 13 Schedule 1 13.
