Principal Regulations


  1. In these Regulations, "Principal Regulations" means the Quarantine
(General) Regulations.

Disposal of refuse


  2. Regulation 33C of the Principal Regulations is amended-
  (a)  by omitting from sub-regulation (1) all words from and including
"shall" and substituting "shall, while the vessel remains in or near a
declared port, make available for collection by a person authorized under
sub-regulation 34 (1), at such times or at such intervals as are specified in
a notice in writing given to the master or owner of the vessel by a person so
authorized, all animal waste, organic refuse, galley scraps or waste from the
vessel";
  (b)  by omitting from sub-regulation (2) ", and remaining in or near that
declared part for a period of at least 24 hours"; and
  (c)  by omitting from sub-regulation (5) "and item 9 of Part 1 of Schedule
2".

  3. Regulation 80 of the Principal Regulations is repealed.
