PRIVACY (PRIVATE SECTOR) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2005 (NO. 1) (SLI NO 301 OF 2005)

- Description:These Regulations amend the Privacy (Private Sector) Regulations 2001 to authorise the use and disclosure of the Centrelink Customer Reference Number (a government identifier) by certain private sector organisations so that they can access the 'Centrelink Confirmation eServices' for the purpose of determining whether certain individuals are entitled to receive a concession. Such use and disclosure would otherwise be prevented by National Privacy Principle 7 in the Privacy Act 1988.
