1. Amendment


  1.1 The National Health (Pharmaceutical Benefits) Regulations are amended as
set out in these Regulations.
(NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act
1901, s.48.)

2. Regulation 5 (Interpretation)


  2.1 Subregulation 5 (1):
Insert the following definitions:
  "'applicable amount' has the same meaning as in Part VII of the Act;
  'out-patient medication' has the same meaning as in Part VII of the Act;
  'public hospital' has the same meaning as in Part VII of the Act;
  'public hospital authority' has the same meaning as in Part VII of the
Act;".

3. Regulation 9AA (Safety net concession card)


  3.1 Paragraph 9AA (2) (a):
Omit "or repatriation pharmaceutical benefits" (twice occurring), substitute
", repatriation pharmaceutical benefits and out-patient medication".
  3.2 Paragraph 9AA (2) (b):
Omit "or repatriation pharmaceutical benefit" (twice occurring), substitute ",
repatriation pharmaceutical benefit or out-patient medication".

4. Regulation 9AB (Additional concession cards)


  4.1 Paragraph 9AB (2) (b):
After "approved medical practitioner" (twice occurring), insert ", public
hospital authority".

  5.1 Subparagraph 9AC (2) (a) (ii):

  6.1 Subregulation 9AD (1):
After "approved medical practitioner", insert ", public hospital authority".

7. Regulation 9A (Pharmaceutical benefits prescription record forms)


  7.1 After subregulation 9(A) (4), insert:
  "(4A) For the purposes of paragraph 84D (11) (c) of the Act, the following
particulars in relation to the supply of out-patient medication are
prescribed:
  (a) particulars that identify the medication;
  (b) particulars that identify the public hospital at which the medication
was supplied;
  (c) the applicable amount.".

8. Regulation 9B (Pharmaceutical benefits entitlement card)


  8.1 Paragraph 9B (2) (a):
Omit "or repatriation pharmaceutical benefits" (twice occurring), substitute
