1.   Commencement


  1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 January 1992.

2.   Amendment


  2.1   The National Health (Pharmaceutical Benefits) Regulations are amended
as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 5 (Interpretation)


  3.1   After the definition of "relevant entitlement period", insert:
  " 'repatriation pharmaceutical benefit' has the same meaning as in Part VII
of the Act;".

  4.1   Subregulation 6 (2):
Omit the subregulation.

5.   Regulation 9AA (Safety net concession card)


  5.1   Subparagraphs 9AA (2) (a) (i) and (ii):
After "pharmaceutical benefits", insert "or repatriation pharmaceutical
benefits".

6.   Regulation 9A (Pharmaceutical benefits prescription record forms)


  6.1   Subregulation 9A (3):
Omit the subregulation.
  6.2   Subregulation 9A (4):
After "benefit", insert "or repatriation pharmaceutical benefit".
  6.3   Paragraph 9A (4) (a):
Omit the paragraph, substitute:
 "(a) the code number set out in relation to that pharmaceutical benefit or
repatriation pharmaceutical benefit in the Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits
published by the Department;".
  6.4   Paragraphs 9A (4) (b) and (c):
After "benefit", insert "or repatriation pharmaceutical benefit".
  6.5   Add at the end:
 "(6) The maximum value of a repatriation pharmaceutical benefit for safety
net purposes is the amount charged for the benefit in accordance with a scheme
referred to in subsection 91 (1) of the Veterans Entitlements Act 1986.".

  7.1   Subparagraphs 9B (2) (a) (i) and (ii):
After "pharmaceutical benefits", insert "or repatriation pharmaceutical
benefits".
  7.2   Paragraph 9B (2) (b):
After "pharmaceutical benefit" (wherever occurring), insert "or repatriation
pharmaceutical benefit".

  8.1   Paragraph 19 (1) (a):
Omit "'N. H. S.'", substitute "'PBS', 'NHS' or

10.   Regulation 26 (Repeat authorisations)


  10.1   Paragraph 26 (1) (d):
Omit the paragraph, substitute:
 "(d) in the case of a concession card prescription, an entitlement card
prescription or a concessional benefit prescription-mark on the repeat
authorisation prepared by him or her the entitlement number appearing on the
prescription;".

11.   Regulation 26A (Deferred supply authorisations)


  11.1   Paragraph 26A (2) (c):
Omit the paragraph, substitute:
 "(c) in the case of a concession card prescription, an entitlement card
prescription or a concessional benefit prescription-mark on the deferred
supply authorisation prepared by him or her the entitlement number appearing
on the prescription;".
