1. Commencement


  1.1 These Regulations commence on 1 July 1995.

2. Amendment


  2.1 The Marriage Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3. Regulation 74 (Fees)


  3.1 Subregulations 74 (2), (5), (5A), and (5B):
Omit the subregulations.

  3.2 Subregulation 74 (6):
Omit the subregulation, substitute:
  "(6) Despite any other provision of this regulation, if a prescribed
authority is a member of the Parliament of Australia or of a State of
Australia, no fee is payable to the prescribed authority for:
  (a) an application for shortening the time for giving notice of intended
marriage under section 42 (5) of the Act; or
  (b) an application for dispensing with the consent of a person under section
15 of the Act.".
