These Regulations may be cited as the Maternity Leave (Commonwealth Employees) Regulations. 1982 No. 163 MATERNITY LEAVE (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYEES) REGULATIONS - REG 2 Repeal of Maternity Leave (Australian Government Employees) Regulations 2. Statutory Rules 1974 No. 82 and Statutory Rules 1978 No. 107 are repealed. 1982 No. 163 MATERNITY LEAVE (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYEES) REGULATIONS - REG 3 Interpretation 3. In these Regulations, "the Act" means the Maternity Leave (Commonwealth Employees Act 1973. 1982 No. 163 MATERNITY LEAVE (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYEES) REGULATIONS - REG 4 Prescribed authorities 4. For the purposes of the definittion of "prescribed authority" in section 3 of the Act- (a) a body corporate specified in column 2 of Schedule 1 in an item in that Schedule is declared to be a body corporate; and (b) an unincorporated body specified in column 2 of Schedule 2 in and item in that Schedule is declared to be an unincorporated body, in relation to which the Act applies. 1982 No. 163 MATERNITY LEAVE (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYEES) REGULATIONS - REG 5 Unauthorized absence 5. For the purposes of sub-section 3 (2) of the Act, and absence from duty by an employee, being an absence in respect of which leave has not been granted in pursuance of a law of the Commonwealth or of a Territory (other than the Northern Territory), or any instrument made or issued under such a law, that provides for terms and conditions of employment that are applicable to that employee is an unauthorized absence in relation to that employee. 1982 No. 163 MATERNITY LEAVE (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYEES) REGULATIONS - REG 6 Prescribed person 6.
