Lebanese concession visa
107. (1) The additional criteria in relation to a Lebanese concession visa are
the following criteria:
(a) the sole place of residence of the applicant is in Lebanon;
(b) any residence of the applicant in Lebanon has suffered severe damage
as a direct result of the conflict in Lebanon or has otherwise been
made unusable indefinitely for the applicant's purposes;
(c) the applicant has been affected seriously and directly by that
conflict to the extent that he or she does not have a prospect of
resuming normal life in Lebanon;
(d) the application is made not later than 6 months after the event or
latest event that has so affected the applicant's life in Lebanon;
(e) the applicant is sponsored by a relative:
(i) who was an Australian permanent resident on 5 March 1989 and
continues to be such a resident; and
(ii) who provides an assurance of support;
(f) the Minister is satisfied that resettlement in Australia is the only
appropriate course for the applicant;
(g) the Minister is satisfied that resettlement of the applicant in
Australia would not be contrary to the national interests of
Australia.
(2) In subregulation (1), "relative" means a spouse, parent, brother or sister
of the applicant, a dependent or non-dependent child of the applicant or a
person engaged to be married to the applicant.
