FEDERAL MAGISTRATES AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2006 (NO. 1) (SLI NO 81 OF 2006)

- Description:The Jurisdiction of the Federal Magistrates Court Legislation Amendment Act 2006 confers on the FMC similar jurisdiction to that of the Federal Court in admiralty matters. The Federal Court of Australia Regulations 2004 provide that there is no fee for the seizure and sale of goods for any proceedings under the Admiralty Act 1988. These Regulations amend item 10 of Schedule 1 to the Federal Magistrates Regulations 2000 to provide that there is no fee for the seizure and sale of goods for proceedings under the Admiralty Act to ensure consistency with the Federal Court Regulations.
