Appointment


  Regulation 69 of the Defence (Inquiry) Regulations is amended by omitting
subregulation (2) and substituting the following subregulations:
  "(2) A person is not eligible to be appointed as an Investigating Officer
unless the person is:
  (a)  an officer; or
  (b)  a warrant officer; or
  (c)  the holder of an office of Administrative Service Officer Class 4, or a
higher office in the Australian Public Service.
  "(3) An appointment under paragraph (2) (c) must not be made unless the
officer consents to the appointment.".
