1989 No. 209 A.C.T. SELF-GOVERNMENT (CONSEQUENTIAL PROVISIONS) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 2

2. Schedule 1 to the A.C.T. Self-Government (Consequential Provisions)
Regulations is amended by inserting in its appropriate alphabetical position
(determined on a letter-by-letter basis according to the citation of the
legislation to be modified) the following:
Economic Planning Advisory Council Act 1983
Subsection 3 (1) (definition of "Parliament"):
After "in relation to" insert "the Australian Capital Territory or".
Subsection 3 (5):
Omit the subsection, substitute:

"(5) In this Act:

   (a)  a reference to a State shall be read as including a reference to the
        Australian Capital Territory and to the Northern Territory; and

   (b)  a reference to the Premier of a State shall, in relation to the
        Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory, be read as a
        reference to the Chief Minister of that Territory; and

   (c)  a reference to the appropriate Minister of a State is to be read:

        (i)    in relation to the Australian Capital Territory-as a reference
               to the appropriate person appointed under subsection 41 (1) of
               the Australian Capital Territory (Self-Government) Act 1988;
               and

        (ii)   in relation to the Northern Territory-as a reference to the
               appropriate person holding an office referred to in section 34
               of the Northern Territory (Self-Government) Act 1978.".
