Principal Regulations


  1. In these Regulations, "Principal Regulations" means the Archives
Regulations.

Charges


  2. Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting
sub-regulation (2) and substituting the following sub-regulation:
  "(2) The charges set out in Part II of Schedule 1 apply in respect of-
  (a)  the keeping of records of a Commonwealth institution specified in
Schedule 2; and
  (b)  making records available to a Commonwealth institution specified in
Schedule 2 or to a Commonwealth institution that has succeeded to the relevant
functions of that institution, being records-
  (c)  that do not form part of the archival resources of the Commonwealth;
and
  (d)  that are temporarily in the custody of the Archives or a person in
accordance with an arrangement under section 64 of the Act.".

Schedule 1


  3. Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended-
  (a)  by inserting in the heading to Part II of that Schedule ", AND MAKING
RECORDS AVAILABLE TO," after "FOR";
  (b)  by omitting from item 2 in Part II of that Schedule "8 (2) (b)" and
substituting "8 (2) (d)";
  (c)  by omitting from item 3 in Part II of that Schedule "8 (2) (b)" and
substituting "8 (2) (d)"; and
  (d)  by adding at the end of Part II of that Schedule the following items:
"4  In respect of making records
     available to a Commonwealth
     institution referred to in paragraph
     8 (2) (b)-a charge in respect of the
     retrieval, issue, return and
     relocation of each record or
     container of records                Where the record is made available
                                         otherwise than in a container in
which
                                         the record is kept by the
                                         Archives-$2.50 in respect of that
                                         record
                                         Where the record is made available
in
                                         one or more containers in which the
                                         record is kept by the Archives-$2.50
in 
                                         respect of each such container in
which 
                                         the record is so made available
"5  In respect of making records
     available for inspection by an
     officer of a Commonwealth
     institution referred to in paragraph
     8 (2) (b)-a charge in respect of
     each hour, or part of an hour,
     during which a member of the staff
     of the Archives supervises the
     inspection of such records          $20.00 per hour or part of an hour
".
