Transitional 1981 No. 44 PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 1 Woomera allowance 1. Regulation 103A of the Public Service Regulations is amended- (a) by omitting sub-regulations (1), (3), (4A), (5), (6) and (7) and sub-stituting the following sub-regulations: "(1) An allowance is payable to an officer, or employee, who is stationed at, and resides in, a place within a radius of 80 kilometres from the post office at Woomera at the rate of- (a) if he has a dependant who resides with him at that place-$775 a year; or (b) in any other case-$400 a year. "(2) An allowance is payable to an officer, or employee, who is stationed at, or is directed to perform duty for more than 7 days at and resides in, an established camp in the Woomera Rocket Range Area at the rate of- (a) if he has a dependant-$30 a week; or (b) in any other case-$24 a week. "(3) Where an allowance is payable under sub-regulation (2) to a person for a period, an allowance is not payable under sub-regulation (1) to the person for that period."; (b) by omitting from sub-regulation (8) "(3) of this regulation" and substituting "(2)"; (c) by omitting from sub-regulation (9) "76,"; and (d) by omitting from sub-regulation (9) "(3) of this regulation" and sub-stituting "(2)". 1981 No. 44 PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 2 Transitional 2. (1) An officer or employee- (a) who immediately before, and on, the commencement of these Regulations was stationed at, and resided in, a place within a radius of 80 kilometres from the post office at Woomera; (b) who was entitled to be paid an allowance at the rate referred to in paragraph 103A (1) (a) of the Public Service Regulations as in force immediately before the commencement of these Regulations; and (c) who is entitled, under sub-regulation 103A (1) of the Public Service Regulations as in force from time to time, to be paid an allowance at a rate that is less than the rate of $775 a year, is entitled to be paid an allowance at a rate equal to the difference between the 2 rates referred to in paragraph (c) until- (d) he first ceases to be entitled to be paid an allowance under that sub-regulation as so in force; or (e) he first becomes entitled, under that sub-regulation as so in force, to be paid an allowance at a rate that exceeds $775 a year, whichever first occurs. (2) An officer or employee- (a) who immediately before, and on, the commencement of these Regulations was stationed at, or was directed to perform duty for more than 7 days at and resided in, an established camp in the Woomera Rocket Range Area; (b) who was entitled to be paid an allowance at the rate referred to in paragraph 103A (3) (a) of the Public Service Regulations as in force immediately before the commencement of these Regulations; and (c) who is entitled, under sub-regulation 103A (2) of the Public Service Regulations as in force from time to time, to be paid an allowance at a rate that is less than the rate of $30 a week, is entitled to be paid an allowance at a rate equal to the difference between the 2 rates referred to in paragraph (c) until- (d) he first ceases to be entitled to be paid an allowance under that sub-regulation as so in force; or (e) he first becomes entitled, under that sub-regulation as so in force, to be paid an allowance at a rate that exceeds $30 a week, whichever first occurs. - NOTES 1981 No. 44*1* PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS*2* (AMENDMENT) *1* Notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 20 March 1981. *2* Statutory Rules 1935 No. 18 as amended to date.
