1. Commencement


  1.1 These Regulations commence on gazettal.

2. Amendment


  2.1 The Patents Regulations are amended as set out in these 
Regulations.

3. Regulation 4.3 (Prescribed documents: public inspection)


  3.1 Subregulation 4.3 (1):
  Add at the end:
  "; (h) any document filed, and a copy of any document given to the 
patent applicant by the Commissioner, in relation to an application 
for an extension of time under subsection 223 (2) of the Act.".

  3.2 Subregulation 4.3 (2):
  Omit the subregulation, substitute:
  "(2) For paragraphs 55 (2) (a), (b) and (c) of the Act, the 
following documents are prescribed:
  (a) a document that is subject to an order of a court or a tribunal 
that prohibits disclosure of the document or information in the 
document;
  (b) a document required to be produced under paragraph 210 (c) of 
the Act that the Commissioner has reasonable grounds for believing 
should not be open to public inspection.".

4. Regulation 22.26 (Review of decisions)


  4.1 After subparagraph 22.26 (2) (a) (ii), insert:
  "(iia) paragraph 4.3 (2) (b) ('prescribed documents: public 
inspection');".
