HEALTH INSURANCE (DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING SERVICES TABLE) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2009 (NO. 4) (SLI NO 286 OF 2009)

- Description:These Regulations amend the Health Insurance (Diagnostic Imaging Services Table) Regulations 2009 to enable Medicare benefits to be paid for MRI services using specified equipment at Bankstown Hospital NSW; amends the manufacturer and scanner model of the specified equipment at Monash Medical Centre, Vic; makes a technical amendment to rule 31 to remove the ambiguity of the wording; and clarifies the eligibility critieria which enables Medicare benefits to be paid for MRI services used in the diagnosis of breast cancer in asymptomatic women less than 50 years of age with a high risk of developing breast cancer.
