Commencement


  1. Regulation 4 shall be deemed to have taken effect from the commencement
of section 9 of the Customs and Excise Amendment Act 1983.

Requirements for remission, rebate or refund


  2. Regulation 51 of the Excise Regulations is amended by inserting ",
rebate" after "remission" (wherever occurring) in sub-regulation (1).

  3. Regulation 52 of the Excise Regulations is amended by inserting ",
rebate" after "remission".

  4. After regulation 52 of the Excise Regulations the following regulation is
inserted:
Rate of rebate of duty in respect of diesel fuel
  "52A. For the purposes of sub-section 78A (5) of the Act, the rate of rebate
in respect of any diesel fuel is $0.07155 per litre.".
