Transitional 1984 No. 45 DEFENCE FORCE (SALARIES) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 1 Service as Principal Chaplain 1. Regulation 4C of the Defence Force (Salaries) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation: "(2) For the purposes of these Regulations, a Senior Chaplain who was appointed as a Principal Naval Chaplain on 5 November 1981 and who performed the duties of a chaplain in the Navy during the period from and including 1 July 1981 to and including 4 November 1981 shall be deemed to have completed a period of service as a Principal Naval Chaplain equal to the period he so performed those duties.". 1984 No. 45 DEFENCE FORCE (SALARIES) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 2 Transitional 2. Where a Senior Chaplain who was appointed as a Principal Naval Chaplain on 5 November 1981 performed the duties of a chaplain in the Navy during the period from and including 1 July 1981 to and including 4 November 1981, he shall be paid, as additional salary in respect of service rendered during that period, an amount, if any, calculated in accordance with the formula- A - (B+C) where- A is the amount of salary that would have been payable to him in respect of that period if he had been entitled to salary at the rate of $28,223; B is the amount, if any, of Senior Chaplain's Allowance paid or payable to him in respect of that period under Determination 0112, Senior Chaplain's Allowance, made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903; and C is the amount of salary paid or payable to him in respect of that period under the Defence Force (Salaries) Regulations. - NOTES 1984 No. 45*1* DEFENCE FORCE (SALARIES) REGULATIONS*2* (AMENDMENT) *1* Notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 30 March 1984. *2* Statutory Rules 1973 No. 100 as amended to date.
