1983 No. 54 DEFENCE FORCE (RESERVES) (FINANCIAL) REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 1

The Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations are amended-
(a) by omitting from sub-regulation 12 (7) "renders" and substituting "was,
before he became a member to whom these Regulations apply, a member to whom
the Defence Force (Salaries) Regulations applied and rendered"; and

   (b)  by omitting sub-regulation 12 (8) and substituting the following
        sub-regulation:

"(8) Where a person before he became a member to whom these Regulations apply
rendered a period of continuous full-time service in a part of the forces of a
country declared to be a country within the Commonwealth of Nations for the
purposes of the Defence (Visiting Forces) Act 1963-1973, being the part of
those forces-

   (a)  in the case of a member of the Navy-responsible for the naval defence
        of that country;

   (b)  in the case of a member of the Army-responsible for the military
        defence of that country; and

   (c)  in the case of a member of the Air Force-responsible for the air
        defence of that country,
sub-regulation (7) shall apply to him as if, for that period-

   (d)  he had been a member of the Defence Force to whom the Defence Force
        (Salaries) Regulations applied; and

   (e)  he had held a rank or ranks that corresponds with the rank or ranks
        held by him while rendering that period of service.".
