  1.1 These Regulations commence on 1 April 1996.

2. Amendment


  2.1 The Banks (Shareholdings) Regulations are amended as set out in these
Regulations.

  3.1 Item 6:
Omit the item, substitute:
  "6      Bank of Tokyo - Mitsubishi (Australia) Limited
          Bank of Tokyo - Mitsubishi Limited, being the corporation
          formed or incorporated under that name in Japan".

  3.2 Item 19:
Omit the item, substitute:
  "19     Mitsubishi Bank of Australia Limited
          The Mitsubishi Bank, Ltd, being the corporation formed or
          incorporated under that name in Japan
          Bank of Tokyo - Mitsubishi (Australia) Limited".
