AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS COMMISSION RULES 1998 No. 1 - REG 40

TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT 40. Role of representative

(1) A person representing an applicant must:

   (a)  promptly advise the applicant of the importance of the applicant being
        present in person at the conciliation proceeding; and

   (b)  have sufficient authority to deal with the matter on behalf of the
        applicant.

(2) A person representing the employer must:

   (a)  promptly advise the employer of the importance of the employer, or a
        responsible officer of the employer, being present at the conciliation
        proceeding; and

   (b)  have sufficient authority to deal with the matter on behalf of the
        employer.
