TRADE PRACTICES ACT 1974 No. 51, 1974 - SECT 144

144. (1) Subject to this section, a shipper, shipowner or other person who
suffers loss or damage by an act of another person done in contravention of
section 124 or 130 may recover the amount of the loss or damage by action
against that other person.

(2) Jurisdiction is conferred on the Court to hear and determine actions under
this section and that jurisdiction is exclusive of the jurisdiction of any
other court, other than the jurisdiction of the High Court under section 75 of
the Constitution.
