(1)

Except with the written approval of the Minister, the Board must not:

(a) enter into a contract under which Tourism Australia is to pay or receive an amount exceeding $5,000,000 or, if a higher amount is prescribed, that higher amount; or
(b) enter into a lease of land for a period of 10 years or more.

Paragraph (1)(a) does not apply to the investment of money by Tourism Australia in accordance with section 18 of the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997 .
