SOCIAL SECURITY (REVIEW OF DECISIONS) ACT 1988 No. 85, 1988 - SECT 9

Transitional provisions
9. (1) The amendments made by sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 do not apply in
relation to a person in relation to a decision under this Act if, before 1
November 1988, the person applies to a Social Security Appeals Tribunal for
review of the decision and the Tribunal commences, before that date to hear
the application for review.

(2) Where a person applies to a Social Security Appeals Tribunal before 1
November 1988 for review of a decision and the Tribunal does not commence to
hear the application before that date, the application may be dealt with as if
it had been made to the Social Security Appeals Tribunal under subsection 173
(1) of the amended Act.

(3) Where subsection (2) applies to an application, section 184 of the
amended Act applies as if the Secretary had received notice of the making of
the application from the National Convener on 1 November 1988.

(4) In this section:
     "amended Act" means the Principal Act as in force after this section
commences.
