SOCIAL SECURITY AND VETERANS' ENTITLEMENTS (MAINTENANCE INCOME TEST) AMENDMENT ACT 1988 No. 13, 1988 - SECT 10

10. Section 49 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting subsection (1) and
substituting the following subsection:

"(1) For the purposes of this Part, where a widow has a dependent child, the
income of the widow shall be reduced by $624 per annum less the annual amount
of any payment (not being a payment under this Act, a payment of maintenance
income, a payment under the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986, a payment under
the AUSTUDY scheme or the Assistance for Isolated Children Scheme or a payment
in the nature of family allowance) received by the widow for or in respect of
the child.".
