SOCIAL SECURITY ACT 1991 No. 46, 1991 - SECT 35

35. (1) The Secretary may approve:

   (a)  a charitable or religious organisation; and

   (b)  any other organisation; that co-ordinates or provides residential care
        services to young people in Australia, as an
        approved care organisation, for the purposes of this Act.

(2) The Secretary may approve, under subsection (1), a charitable or religious
organisation which is wholly or partly funded by contributions from:

   (i)  the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Commonwealth; or

   (ii) the consolidated revenue of a State or of the Australian Capital
        Territory or the Northern Territory.

(3) The Secretary is not to approve, under subsection (1), a mental hospital
which is either:

   (a)  maintained by the Commonwealth, a State, the Australian Capital
        Territory or the Northern Territory; or

   (b)  mainly dependent upon financial assistance from the Commonwealth, a
        State, the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory.
