SOCIAL SECURITY ACT 1991 No. 46, 1991 - SECT 1159

Payment may be redirected to dependent partner or child
1159. (1) If:

   (a)  a pension or allowance is not payable to a person on a pension payday
        because of section 1158; and

   (b)  the person's partner is dependent on the person; the Secretary may
        authorise the payment of all or some of the instalment that would
        otherwise have been payable to the person to be paid to:

   (c)  the partner; or

   (d)  someone else for the benefit of the partner.

(2) If:

   (a)  a pension or allowance is not payable to a person on a pension payday
        because of section 1158; and

   (b)  a young person is dependent on the person; the Secretary may authorise
        the payment of all or some of the instalment that would otherwise have
        been payable to the person to be paid to:

   (c)  the young person; or

   (d)  someone else for the benefit of the young person.
