SHIPPING REGISTRATION ACT 1981 No. 8, 1981 - SECT 89

89. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Act, where -

   (a)  before the commencing date, an application was made under the previous
        law, but not finally dealt with; and

   (b)  the Registrar is satisfied that the requirements of this Act relating
        to an application of the same kind are substantially similar to the
        requirements of the previous law, the Registrar shall treat that
        application as if it had been made under this Act.
