STATUTE LAW REVISION ACT 1981 No. 61, 1981 - SECT 59

59. Section 16 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after sub-section
(1B) the following sub-section:



"(1C) In sub-section (1) -

   (a)  references to a visa shall be read as including references to a visa
        or similar notation, or a form of provisional authority to enter
        Australia, that was issued on behalf of the Commonwealth before 1
        November 1979; and

   (b)  references to a return endorsement shall be read as including
        references to a document or notation that was issued on behalf of the
        Commonwealth before 1 November 1979 in respect of the return of a
        person to Australia.".
