SEX DISCRIMINATION ACT 1984 No. 4, 1984 - SECT 49

49. (1) The functions of the Commission under paragraph 48 (1) (a) and the
function of the Commission under paragraph 48 (l) (h), to the extent that it
relates to the performance of the first-mentioned functions, shall be
performed by the Commissioner on behalf of the Commission.

(2) In the performance of a function on behalf of the Commission, the
Commissioner is subject to the directions of the Commission.

(3) The Commission is not entitled to give to the Commissioner for the
purposes of sub-section (2)-

   (a)  a direction in relation to a particular matter; or

   (b)  a direction that is inconsistent with the objects of this Act.
