ROAD TRANSPORT REFORM (DANGEROUS GOODS) ACT 1995 No. 34, 1995 - SECT 19
Authorised officer may require name and address
19.(1) An authorised officer may require a person to state the person's name
and address if the authorised officer believes on reasonable grounds that the
person has been involved in the transport of dangerous goods by road.
(2) When making the requirement, the authorised officer must warn the person
that it is an offence to fail to state the person's name and address unless
the person has a reasonable excuse.
(3) The authorised officer may require the person to give evidence of the
correctness of the stated name or address if the authorised officer suspects
on reasonable grounds that the stated name or address is false.
(4) A person must comply with the authorised officer's requirement under
subsection (1) or (3) unless the person has a reasonable excuse for not
complying with it. Maximum penalty: $500.
