PUBLIC SERVICE REFORM ACT 1984 No. 63, 1984 - SECT 57

57. (1) Section 53B of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from
paragraph (4) (a) ''designation'' and substituting ''classification''.

(2) Section 53B of the Principal Act is amended-

(a) by omitting from sub-section (2) ''An officer'' and substituting ''Subject
to sub-section (2A), an officer''; and

   (b)  by inserting after sub-section (2) the following sub-section:

''(2A) Sub-section (2) does not entitle-

   (a)  an officer who holds a part-time office to be promoted to a full-time
        office; or

   (b)  an officer who holds a full-time office to be promoted to a part-time
        office.''.
