        This Act may be cited as the Primary Industries (Excise) Levies Amendment
(Wine Grapes) Act 2004.

        This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

        Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed
as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other
item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

- SCHEDULE 1 - Primary Industries (Excise) Levies Act 1999
   

1   Subclause 7(2) of Schedule 26 (definition of research amount)

Omit "$1.90 or such other amount, not exceeding $3", substitute "such
amount, not exceeding $10".

2   Application of amendment

 The amendment made by item 1 applies to levy imposed in respect of the
levy year commencing on 1 July 2004, and to subsequent levy years.
