PIG INDUSTRY ACT 1986 No. 157, 1986 - SECT 15
Disclosure of interests of members
15. (1) A member of the Corporation who has a direct or indirect pecuniary
interest in a matter being considered or about to be considered by the
Corporation shall, as soon as practicable after the relevant facts have come
to the knowledge of the member, disclose the nature of the member's interest
at a meeting of the Corporation.
(2) A disclosure under sub-section (1) shall be recorded in the minutes of the
meeting of the Corporation and the member shall not, unless the Corporation
otherwise determines-
(a) be present during any deliberation of the Corporation with respect to
that matter; or
(b) take part in any decision of the Corporation with respect to that
matter.
(3) For the purpose of the making of a determination by the Corporation under
sub-section (2) in relation to a member who has made a disclosure under
sub-section (1), a member who has a direct or indirect pecuniary interest in
the matter to which the disclosure relates shall not-
(a) be present during any deliberation of the Corporation for the purpose
of making the determination; or
(b) take part in the making by the Corporation of the determination.
(4) This section does not apply to a pecuniary interest of a member who is a
principal in the industry, being an interest that the member has by reason of
being a principal in the industry and in common with other principals in the
industry.
(5) In this section, "principal in the industry" means a pig producer, pig
exporter, pork processor, pork producer or pork exporter.
