OFFSHORE MINERALS ACT 1994 No. 28, 1994 - SECT 30

30.(1) A Designated Authority for a State has, in relation to the
Commonwealth-State offshore area for that State, the functions and powers that
this Act confers on a Designated Authority.

(2) A State Minister acting on behalf of the responsible State Minister may
perform the functions and exercise the powers that the responsible State
Minister has in the capacity of Designated Authority for a Commonwealth-State
offshore area.

(3) The Designated Authority for an external territory offshore area has, in
relation to the external territory offshore area, the functions and powers
that this Act confers on a Designated Authority.

(4) A Commonwealth Minister acting on behalf of the responsible Commonwealth
Minister may perform the functions and exercise the powers that the
responsible Commonwealth Minister has in the capacity of Designated Authority
of an external territory offshore area.
