OFFSHORE MINERALS ACT 1994 No. 28, 1994 - SECT 259

Work practices
259. If a person who is:

   (a)  a mining licence holder; or

   (b)  an associate of the holder; carries out activities in the licence area
        that are authorised by the licence, the person must take all
        reasonable steps:

   (c)  to ensure that the activities are carried out at a standard that is
        accepted as reasonable and proper in the mining industry; and

   (d)  to protect the health, safety and welfare of people engaged in the
        activities in and about the licence area; and

   (e)  to maintain in good repair all structures and equipment in the licence
        area brought there by the person; and

   (f)  to remove from the licence area any structure, equipment or other
        property that:

        (i)    belongs to the person, or is under the person's control; and

        (ii)   is not being used, or is not going to be used, in connection
               with the activities. Maximum penalty: 200 penalty units.
