OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYMENT) ACT 1991 No. 30, 1991 - SECT 54
Power to obtain information and documents
54. (1) Where the Commission has reason to believe that a person is capable of
giving information or producing documents relevant to a matter dealt with in a
report under subsection 53 (1), the Commission may, at any time after
receiving the report and before commencing an inquiry under section 55, by
notice in writing served on that person, require that person at such place,
and within such period or on such date and at such time, as are specified in
the notice, to give to the Commission any such information or to produce to
the Commission any such documents.
(2) A person must not refuse or fail, without reasonable excuse, to give
information or produce a document, when so required under subsection (1).
Penalty: $1,000.
