OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYMENT) ACT 1991 No. 30, 1991 - SECT 27

27. (1) A health and safety representative for a designated work group must
undertake a course of training relating to occupational health and safety that
is accredited by the Commission for the purposes of this section.

(2) The employer of the employees in a designated work group must permit the
health and safety representative for the group to take such time off work,
without loss of remuneration or other entitlements, as is necessary to
undertake the training.
