OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYMENT) ACT 1991 No. 30, 1991 - SECT 20

Duties of person erecting or installing plant in a workplace
20. (1) A person who erects or installs any plant in a workplace for the use
of employees at work must take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that
the plant is not erected or installed in such a manner that it is unsafe for
employees who use the plant or constitutes a risk to their health.
Penalty: $20,000.

(2) Nothing in this section affects the operation of the Trade Practices Act
1974, or of any other law of the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory that
imposes an obligation in respect of the erection or installation of goods or
the supply of services.
