NORTHERN TERRITORY SUPREME COURT AMENDMENT ACT (No. 2) 1978 No. 64, 1978 - SECT 7

7. Section 51 of the Principal Act is amended-

(a) by omitting from sub-section (1) ''Australia'' and substituting ''the
Commonwealth''; and

   (b)  by adding at the end thereof the following sub-section:

''(10) In this section-

'indictable offence' means an indictable offence against a law of the
Commonwealth, and 'indictment' shall be construed accordingly;

'law of the Commonwealth' does not include a law in force in the Territory
under or by virtue of the Northern Territory (Self-Government) Act 1978.''.
