NORFOLK ISLAND ACT 1979 No. 25, 1979 - SECT 5

PART II-ADMINISTRATION
5. (1) There shall be an Administrator of the Territory, who shall administer
the government of the Territory as a Territory under the authority of the
Commonwealth.

(2) The Administration is a body politic with perpetual succession by the name
of the Administration of Norfolk Island.

(3) Subject to this Act, the Administration of Norfolk Island is capable by
that name of-

   (a)  suing and being sued;

   (b)  making contracts;

   (c)  acquiring, holding and disposing of real and personal property; and

   (d)  doing and suffering all other matters and things a body corporate may
        do or suffer.
