NATIONAL GALLERY ACT 1975 No. 61, 1975 - SECT 29

Termination of appointment.
29. (1) The Governor-General may terminate the appointment of a prescribed
officer by reason of misbehaviour or physical or mental incapacity.

(2) If a prescribed officer-

   (a)  becomes bankrupt, applies to take the benefit of any law for the
        relief of bankrupt or insolvent debtors, compounds with his creditors
        or makes an assignment of his remuneration for their benefit;

   (b)  is absent from duty, except on leave of absence granted by the
        Minister, for 14 consecutive days or for 28 days in any 12 months; or

   (c)  engages in paid employment outside the duties of his office without
        the approval of the Minister, the Governor-General shall terminate his
        appointment.

(3) If the Director-

   (a)  is absent, except on leave granted by the Council, from 3 consecutive
        meetings of the Council; or

   (b)  fails to comply with his obligations under section 19, the
        Governor-General shall terminate his appointment.
