Employment of additional staff, consultants, &c.

36. (1) The Chairman may, on behalf of the Commonwealth and with the approval
of the Attorney-General or of an authorized person, employ, under agreements
in writing, such persons (if any) as he thinks necessary, in addition to
persons referred to in section 35, to assist the Commission in the performance
of its functions.

(2) The Chairman may, on behalf of the Commonwealth and with the approval of
the Attorney-General or of an authorized person, engage, under agreements in
writing, persons having suitable qualifications and experience as consultants
to, or to perform services for, the Commission.

(3) The terms and conditions of employment of persons employed under
sub-section (1) are such as are from time to time determined by the Chairman
with the approval of the Public Service Board.

(4) The terms and conditions of engagement of persons engaged under
sub-section (2) are such as are from time to time determined by the Chairman
with the approval of the Attorney-General or of an authorized person.

(5) In this section-

   (a)  a reference to the Chairman shall, if a person is acting as Chairman,
        be construed as a reference to the person so acting; and

   (b)  a reference to an authorized person is a reference to a person
        authorized by the Attorney-General, by writing under his hand, to
        grant approvals on behalf of the Attorney-General under this section.
