NATIONAL CRIMES COMMISSION ACT 1982 No. 138, 1982 - SECT 18

18. A witness appearing before the Commission shall be paid by the
Commonwealth in respect of the expenses of his attendance an amount
ascertained in accordance with the prescribed scale or, if there is no
prescribed scale, such amount as the Commission determines.
