An Act to amend section 6 of the Metal Working Machine Tools Bounty Act 1972.

  BE IT  ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and House of Representatives of
the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:
Short title, &c.
  1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Metal Working Machine Tools Bounty
Amendment Act 1978.*1*
  (2) The Metal Working Machine Tools Bounty Act 1972*2* is in this Act
referred to as the Principal Act.

Commencement

  2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on 25 May 1978.

Specification of bounty

  3. Section 6 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after sub-section
(2) the following sub-section:

  ''(2A) Bounty is not payable in respect of a machine tool unless the
manufacture of the tool was commenced, or undertaken in pursuance of a firm
order placed, before 25 May 1978.''.
