MEDICAL INDEMNITY ACT 2002 No. 132, 2002 - SECT 59
Exemptions
- (1)
- A person may be exempt from an enhanced UMP indemnity contribution under
subsection (2) or under regulations made for the purposes of
subsection (3).
- (2)
- A person is exempt from an enhanced UMP indemnity contribution for a
contribution year if:
- (a)
- the person dies before the imposition day in that contribution year; or
- (b)
- before the day on which the contribution would otherwise become due and
payable, the person paid a lump sum under section 64 in relation to the
enhanced UMP indemnity contributions payable by the person.
- (3)
- The regulations may provide that a person is exempt from enhanced UMP
indemnity contribution in the circumstances specified in the regulations.
- (4)
- Regulations made for the purposes of subsection (3) may provide that
a person is exempt from enhanced UMP indemnity contribution either generally
or for a particular contribution year.
