Short title.

                                (Assented to 25 June 1984)

  BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives
of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:

Short title, &c.

  1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Live-stock Slaughter Levy
Collection Amendment Act 1984.

  (2) The Live-stock Slaughter Levy Collection Act 1964*1*
is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

Commencement

  2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 July 1978.

  3. Section 4 of the Principal Act is repealed and the following section is
substituted:
Interpretation

  ''4. In this Act, unless the contrary intention appears-

  'levy' means levy imposed by the Live-stock Slaughter Levy Act 1964;

  'State' includes the Northern Territory.''.
