INCOME TAX ASSESSMENT ACT 1997 No. 38 of 1997 - SECT 330.10

The diagram on the next page shows how this Act treats the mining and
quarrying industries. However, it does not show all stages of the mining or
quarrying process.

Two topics that this Division covers are not shown on the diagram:
. *ordinary income of *genuine prospectors from the sale of rights to mine is
exempt from income tax: see Subdivision 330-B;
. there is a specific deduction for payments of *petroleum resource rent tax:
see Subdivision 330-G.
