HEARING SERVICES ACT 1991 No. 169 of 1991 - SECT 3

3. The objects of this Act are:

   (a)  to provide a national scheme for the provision of hearing services;
        and

   (b)  to ensure the timely and efficient provision of those services; and

   (c)  to promote research into:

        (i)    hearing loss; and

        (ii)   the prevention of hearing loss; and

        (iii)  the effects of noise on the community; and

   (d)  to promote services for hearing impairment prevention and noise
        prevention; and

   (e)  to promote the design, development and supply of hearing products that
        meet client needs; and

   (f)  to promote the establishment of export markets for Australian hearing
        products and hearing services.
